Communities Mental Health & Wellbeing Programme

The Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund are supporting a programme of sessions which encourage people who may not otherwise have participated in seasports to get afloat. During 2024 the sessions are running as a partnership between Kintyre Seasports and Kintyre Canoe Club.

Kintyre Seasports and Kintyre Canoe Club are pleased to announce the return of our supported water sports programme, the Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Project, offering a free and fully inclusive gentle introduction to water sports to members of the local community.

​

  • Water confidence and kayaking (pool based session)

  • Introduction to Kayaking (3 evening course on the loch)

  • Introduction to Sailing (1 day course on the loch)

  • A limited number of private sailing sessions for groups/organisations are available by arrangement, please contact jamie@kintyreseasports.co.uk to discuss

What's on offer?

Kayak in the Pool â€‹

​

An evening of kayaking  in the swimming pool, suitable for beginners or those with some experience would like to build skills and confidence

​

Prerequisites18+, no experience necessary, all abilities welcome, should be happy to be in the pool with the assistance of a buoyancy aid (with floor raised)

Location: Aqualibrium Swimming Pool

Cost: Free, all equipment provided

Dates: 30th May, see booking system below.

Kayaking

Try Sailing

​

A day on the loch, getting in a large sailing dinghy with an instructor and getting as hands on with the sailing as you would like to be, and trying out powerboating.

​

Prerequisites18+, no experience necessary, all abilities welcome

Location: Campbeltown Sailing Club/Dalintober Beach

Cost: Free, all equipment provided

Dates: between May and September, see booking system below. More dates may be added based on demand, please contact info@kintyresasports.co.uk to register interest if none of the dates are suitable.

Try Kayaking​

​

A block of 3 sessions, learning the basics of kayaking. Hosted by Kintyre Canoe Club. Expereince Campbeltown Loch in an entirely new way and try out a new activity.

​

Prerequisites18+, no experience necessary, all abilities welcome

Location: Campbeltown Sailing Club/Dalintober Beach

Cost: Free, all equipment provided

Dates: Block of 3 dates during June, see booking system below.
