Driving a powerboat is a fun and challenging activity, and a vital skill for a variety of water users. Kintyre Seasports offer courses for both amateurs and professionals, all of our certificate courses are RYA accredited, and we can take you from your first time in a powerboat to being a competent and qualified leisure or commercial powerboat or safety boat driver.

Are you looking for a commercial course for your employees? We can arrange RYA Powerboat Level 2, RYA Safety Boat and RYA First Aid courses for you, find out more or contact us at info@kintyreseasports.co.uk to discuss your requirements.

Are you looking for a course that's not listed above, or not sure which course is right for you? We are more than happy to discuss your needs and let you know if we can offer what you're looking for, or advise you where to look if we can't. Just send us an email at jamie@kintyreseasports.co.uk.

What should I do first?

If you want to learn all the basics of driving a powerboat, then an RYA Powerboat Level 2 course is the best place to start. Alternatively, if you'd like to have a go in a powerboat before committing then why not try a Powerboat Taster Session?

How do I get an International Certificate of Competence (ICC)

An ICC is required to drive a powerboat in many countries. An RYA Powerboat Level 2 qualification can demonstrate your proficiency to get an ICC for powered craft up to 10m LOA in coastal waters. Once you have the relevant qualification then you need to apply to the RYA.

I'm already an experienced powerboat driver but would like to get qualified, what can I do?

We offer direct assessments for RYA Powerboat Level 2 for people who are already experienced in powerboats. These are run one on one and arranged for you. To enquire about a direct assessment, please email jamie@kintyreseasports.co.uk
